PAI Heads to Córdoba for AutoPollen 2026
Big milestone for CloudSci — our Passive Aerosol Imager (PAI) is now installed in Córdoba, Spain, for the EUMETNET AutoPollen 2026 intercomparison campaign!
This is an exciting moment for us. The PAI uses digital holography and a novel triggered open-path sensing system to characterize coarse-mode atmospheric particles — delivering particle sizes, concentrations, and high-resolution images for classification, all without the sampling artifacts that affect traditional inlet-based instruments.
Having the PAI evaluated alongside other leading automatic pollen monitors in a rigorous, standardized campaign is exactly the kind of validation the aerobiology community deserves, and we’re grateful to the AutoPollen team and the University of Córdoba for hosting.
Huge thanks to everyone involved in making this deployment happen.
