CloudSci and Mississippi State University receive DOE grant to develop particle trapping and characterization technology

By admin

We’re pleased to announce a new project in collaboration with Professor Chuji Wang of Mississippi State to begin commercialization of his particle optical trapping and sensing technology. Dr. Wang is a leading developer of optical particle sensing, and we are excited to be working with his group on this important topic. Optical particle trapping provides for longer sampling periods enabling a wider range of sensing methods to be applied to the challenge of identifying particle types and determining particle composition. The Phase I effort, funded by the Department of Energy, focuses on laboratory tests of a novel particle sampling and injection system, which will be coupled with Raman spectroscopy. We’ll share updates from the laboratory experiments and other progress as the project proceeds. Stay tuned!
