The Team

Matt Freer -- CEO

Matt Freer has been involved with airborne atmospheric science for more than 20 years, focusing on the hardware, software, and data processing aspects of in-situ cloud microphysics measurements. He holds an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before founding CloudSci, he was a research programmer at the University of Illinois in the McFarquhar research group, developed standards and software processing tools at the European Facility for Airborne Research (EUFAR) in Toulouse, France, led the sales, marketing, and support of cloud probes at Droplet Measurement Technologies in Boulder, Colorado, and led several SBIRs for cloud probe development at Handix Scientific in Fort Collins, Colorado

Nick Good -- VP Operations

Nick’s career has spanned research, project management, and consultancy. He graduated with a degree in Physics, before obtaining a doctorate in Atmospheric Science from the University of Manchester. His research career has focused on various areas of aerosol science including health effects, human exposure, pollutant formation, and the measurement of particle properties. In 2019 he founded an environmental consultancy that has served clients in government, automotive, chemical, and disaster relief sectors among others. As a founder and the vice-president of operations at CloudSci he is working to develop the next generation of aerosol measurement instruments and airborne particle analysis techniques.
